Posted Date: 11.08.2016

The 660-MW plant covering nearly 880 hectares in Dan Thanh Commune in Tra Vinh Province’s Duyen Hai District will generate around 3.9 billion kWh of electricity a year when it is in place.

The project needs a total investment of about VND22.78 trillion (US$1.82 billion), with bank loans making up 85% and the rest coming from Sumitomo Corporation and EVN and 42 months of construction after the date of the contract being signed by EVN and Sumitomo. The contract also includes building a port for coal to fuel the plant.

Duyen Hai 3 is one of the four power projects developed at the Duyen Hai Power Center with a combined generation capacity of 4,348 MW as outlined in a master plan for the nation’s power development between 2011 and 2020 with a vision toward 2030. The center occupies a total area of 879 hectares in the province.
